At SXSW Interactive March 7:  How 3D printers impact technology today and in the future

Posted by Tony DeYoung on March 04, 2013

SXSW Interactive is considered an incubator of cutting-edge technologies and digital creativity and the place to experience a preview of what is unfolding in the world of technology.

At SXSWi, AMD is partnering with 3D Systems to show the latest in 3D Printing and AMD FirePro workstation related technology on Thursday March 7th. The exhibition will tell an end-to-end story that touches on component parts, gaming and software.

If you are attending SXSWi or live in the area, drop by AMD Technograffiti from 7:30 p.m. to Midnight on March 7th, the evening before SXSWi officially begins. Get a drink and explore how the PC is being reimagined and brought to the forefront of cool again!

Register here as a VIP.

In addition to a complete start-to-finish demo of 3D Printing, the VIP evening will include:

  • A collection of some of the coolest PC mods you’ll ever see—from a rocket-launching gaming PC to a popcorn machine HTPC
  • Play the hottest Never Settle Reloaded AAA games
  • The latest gaming technology
  • Master of ceremonies and Blogger extraordinaire Chris Pirillo

Below are images of a CAD rendering and a final 3D printed object (a custom cover for a desktop PC) designed by Ian Reymond, that will be demoed in the exhibit.
